Implementation of the Smoking (Public Health) Ordinance
Smoking (Public Health) Ordinance (Cap.371) was first enacted in 1982. Several amendments were made subsequently to further strengthen tobacco control and safeguard the public health in Hong Kong.
The ordinance covers:
- Prohibition of smoking in public places;
- Restriction on sales of tobacco products; and
- Restriction on tobacco promotion and advertising.
